There are some similarities though. Tracy, the Irish version usually has caraway seeds, currants or raisins, but I prefer mine without also. Here's the version I ate while living over there: https://trulyskrumptious.wordpress.com/2013/03/15/recipe-exchange-irish-soda-bread/

Or the Brown Soda Bread version: https://trulyskrumptious.wordpress.com/2014/03/11/recipe-exchange-lilys-brown-soda-bread/

This may become my new fast version of lighter bread though, so I'm glad I found it! :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-32371996381695626302011-01-09T20:50:47.770+00:002011-01-09T20:50:47.770+00:00I tried it today, and it was delicious :)

We prefer the whole wheat versions, and without sultans & such. I like that these breads are so easy to put together, needs no time rising for yeast, etc., and so can be made while a soup is cook to round out a meal. :o) Happy Day, dear friend--LOVE YOU LOTS ((BIG HUGS))Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09179096002434748927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-59439444232362406382011-01-06T12:56:11.035+00:002011-01-06T12:56:11.035+00:00Mmmm, I love Irish soda bread!! Corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes, Bailey's Fudge Cake, Bailey's Irish Cream and Marie's Irish soda bread. I'm not too crazy about green beer. I adore the color and the idea of green beer but I just can't stand the taste -- it makes me green. :( I may even dye my hair green this year. Then again, maybe not!
