I would recommend Robertsons Olde English over the Bon Maman, however I think the Mackays is the best. It's nice and thick and has a nice amount of orange peel in it. I hope you do come again and that you like what you find. In the past 15 years I have learned to substitute lots of things for the ingredients I was used to using back home! We can share! xoMarie Raynerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00407913432222377267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-47552911124650076312016-02-28T14:39:15.823+00:002016-02-28T14:39:15.823+00:00Barbara..you will never need a cookbook now:) Mari...Barbara..you will never need a cookbook now:) Marie is a living one:)
I too think this cake must be fantastic.
I just ripped out a marmalade cake recipe..yesterday..this looks way better.
I love theta there is not 32 ounces of cream cheese LOL.
I have a dessert that is a bit similar but not..bavarian apple cake..

La Table De Nanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04358539954508050792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7100882347408067241.post-77353398162121594192016-02-28T12:55:30.774+00:002016-02-28T12:55:30.774+00:00Hello Marie, (the Canadian lady living in England ...Hello Marie, (the Canadian lady living in England ) I'm new to your blog, an English lady living in France for 26 years ) just popped over from Monique 'La Table de Nana' she was sharing your Omelette recipe. This marmalade cake sounds delicious, everything my French grandsons love, all mixed into one cake, this is a must to try for next Sunday when they come to celebrate their grandfathers birthday. My only problem is finding a good marmalade. Bonne Maman is nice but a bit in the sloppy side, most of the others are lacking on peel so it's more jelly . I have seen Robertsons Olde English. As you have tried and tested marmalades which do you think I should choose ? I'd really appreciate your advice, living in France I've had to learn to substitute lots of ingredients for English recipes that I can't get. I'm so glad I've found your blog, I'll be back soon searching for more recipes, I've forgotten about.Barbara Lilian in Francehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05798063785447224950noreply@blogger.com
